Meanwhile, Divisional Railway Manager (DRM) Samastipur,
Sudhanshu Sharma said an inquiry has been ordered into the incident.
He, however, clarified that all the trains were being run with utmost caution as local people had already informed about the Chhath festival to be observed in a pond located near the track.
Yet the devotees may not have heard the horn of the train due to high pitched volume of loudspeakers being played on the occasion, the DRM maintained.
The train services between Samastipur and Darbhanga section on the track, which was blocked by the angry local people protesting with the bodies, resumed after a gap of six hours, he said, adding that protesters had damaged the signal post.
The DRM said that Railway would bear the expense of treatment of the two injured.
