The nomination of BJP candidate M Subramaniam, opposed by the AIADMK on the ground that he had not mentioned about an FIR against him in a criminal case, was also accepted.
AIADMK has fielded C Valarmathi, DMK N Anand and CPI-M K Annadurai for the prestigious bypoll, caused by the disqualification of AIAMK supremo Jayalalithaa following the four-year jail term awarded to her by a court in the disproportionate assets case.
