BJP president Amit Shah has unveiled a stainless steel Charkha at the Sabarmati riverfront in Ahmedabad.
The charkha, which is 21 feet in length, 11 feet in height,and 6.5 feet in breadth, is made of chromium-nickel stainless steel and is installed on the Sabarmati Riverfront near the Riverfront Park, right across the Sabarmati Ashram.
The BJP leader hailed the efforts of Prime Minister Narendra Modi for popularising Khadi among the youth.
Union Minister of State for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises Giriraj Singh was also present during the unveiling on June 27.
Speaking on the occasion, KVIC Chairman Vinai Kumar Saxena said that nothing could be a better tribute to the Saint of Sabarmati, Mahatma Gandhi, ahead of his 150th Birth Anniversary.
