The integration would help it to offer an enhanced content bouquet to audiences across the southern markets in general and Telugu speaking viewers, Star India said in a statement today.
Maa operates four channels - Maa, Maa Music, Maa Movies and Maa Gold. In February, Star India had announced the acquisition of these channels.
It also opens up an opportunity for major content innovation in the Telugu television market, which is the second largest regional market in India in terms of revenue potential, it added further.
Maa TV group was owned by industrialist Nimmagadda Prasad, Rajya Sabha member Chiranjeevi and actor Nagarjuna.
Star India is a leading broadcaster in India with over 40 channels in eight different languages.
