State coordination committee members clash with police

Some members of the state coordination committee, an organisation of state government employees clashed with police at Salt Lake area here today when the cops stopped them near the Bikash Bhavan.
The incident happened this afternoon when a group of protesters led by state coordination committee, an organisation of state government employees affiliated to the CPI(M) marched to Bikash Bhavan in Salt lake area to submit a deputation demanding hike in salaries and pensions.
The activists were stopped by the police near Bikas Bhavan following which a scuffle broke out. The police has to use force to control the crowd during which some activists and police personnel were injured.

"Few police personnel were injured during the incident. Later on the situation was brought under control," a senior police official of Bidhannagar police commisionerate said.
