State revenue department clerk arrested while accepting bribe

A state revenue department clerk was arrested red-handed today while allegedly accepting a bribe of Rs 10,000 by the Lokayukta police.
Kanhaiyasingh Chouhan, a clerk with the officer of Additional Tehsildar Pradip Kaurav was arrested at Simrol area, some 25 km from here, based on the complaint of advocate Jitendra Sadhvani, Lokayukta Deputy Superintendent of Police V S Parihar told PTI.
In his complaint Sadhvani alleged that Kaurav demanded Rs 10,000 bribe from him to get a land bought in Bardari village mutated in his name. Accordingly, the Additional Tehsildar sent his clerk to collect the bribe money from Sadhvani.
The Lokayukta laid a trap and arrested clerk Chouhan at the Additional Tehsildar's office, the DSP said.
He said that the clerk and his boss Kaurav have been booked under relevant sections of Indian Penal Code while a hunt has been launched to arrest the additional tehsildar who is the prime accused in the case.
