The company had reported a net profit of Rs 39 crore in the corresponding period last fiscal. However, the numbers are not comparable as Sterlite Technologies had announced demerger of power business effective April 1, 2015.
Revenue for the reported quarter (post demerger) stood at Rs 576 crore whereas it was Rs 979 crore (pre-demerger) in the fourth quarter of financial year 2014-15.
Demerger of Sterlite Technologies led to two independent companies; telecom company rechristened as 'Sterlite Tech' and power company as 'Sterlite Power Transmission'.
The company said positive quarterly and full year financial results are a testimony of its structurally solid telecom business with unique offerings across the value chain.
"Going forward, we will strengthen our focus on end-to-end telecom opportunities, while investing in building capabilities on core technologies and smart networks," Sterlite Technologies CEO Anand Agarwal said in a statement.
