Chairing a peace committee meeting at the office of the Deputy Commissioner here yesterday to discuss maintenance of law and order during the festival season, Rai said persons who take law into their hands should be detained at any cost, an official release here said.
Anyone who hindered the police officials from doing their duty impartially by picketing police stations and protesting, should be arrested without paying heed to pressure. People who provoked communal riots and disharmony should be brought to book immediately.
