Student commits suicide by consuming poisonous substance

A 20-year-old pharmacy student today committed suicide by consuming some poisonous substance at Ashok Vihar Colony here.
Dipankar Kulkarni, hailing from Madhya Pradesh's Betul district, consumed poison last night and was rushed to the private Om Hospital by his roommate Anklesh, Ashoka Garden police station in-charge Inspector Mohan Sarwan told PTI.
Kulkarni died this morning, he said, adding, he did not leave any suicide note.
Kulkarni was a first-year pharmacy student at Sainath College, Sarwan said.
He said that Kulkarni was upset after he was found to be suffering from tuberculosis by a doctor in Maharashtra some months ago.
His body was handed over after post-mortem to his father and uncle who came down from Betul. Further investigations are on, the police official said.
