Angry with the authorities for not completing their registration for examinations, the students of an intermediate college today torched the college building here and pelted stones on the policemen, injuring two of them.
A large number of students of Naraini Upendra Yadav Inter College in Phulkaha village stormed into the college building and set it on fire, sources said.
The protesting students also chased away police and other officers and pelted stones on them, injuring two policemen before setting on fire two government vehicles, they said.
The sources said that by the time SP Saurabh Sah rushed to the college with police reinforcement, the building was gutted in fire.
College principal Hareram Sah blamed the district education office for delay in sending registration forms to the college, as a result of which the students could not be registered for annual examinations till yesterday, the last day for registration.
A probe has been ordered into the incident of arson by the students, they said.
