Sugar and wheat prices up in foodgrains market

While the prices of sugar and wheat increased that of thoor dal, moong dal,gram dal and sooji (90 kg) dropped in the wholesale foodgrain market here during the week under review.
Sugar opened at the same closing rate of Rs 3,850 last Monday and on Wednesday rose by Rs 50 per quintal to finish the week at Rs 3,900.
Wheat was Rs 3,100, an increase of Rs 100 per quintal from its last rate of Rs 3,000 which went up again on Wednesday by Rs 100 and closed the week at Rs 3,200.
Thoor dal maintained its closing rate of Rs 10,000 till Wednesday, when its prices fell by Rs 500 per quintal to finish this week at Rs 9,500.
Moong dal opened the week at Rs 6,500 less by Rs 200 per quintal from Rs 6,700 and ended the week at its openig rate of Rs 6,500.
Gram dal fell sharply by Rs 1,000 on the opening day to Rs 12,000 from its closing rate of Rs 13,000, its price fell again on Wednesday to close the week at Rs 11,800.
Sooji (90 kg)(Rs 3,300) prices ruled steady till Wednesday, when its prices decreased by Rs 100 to finish the week at Rs 3,200.
Meanwhile, prices of Urad dal(Rs.9,500) and maida (90 kg)(Rs.2,700) remained steady throughout the week.
