Sugar prices remains at seven-year low

The slide in sugar prices continued unabated and traded at fresh seven-year low at the wholesale market in the national capital today due to ample stocks position following persistent supplies from mills and fell up to Rs 70 per quintal.
Marketmen said besides mounting stock position in the markets due to continued supplies by mills, estimates of record output this marketing year, pulled down sugar prices.
They said, however, scattered demand from bulk consumers, limited the losses.
Sugar ready M-30 and S-30 prices were down by Rs 70 each to trade at fresh seven-year lows of Rs 2,400-2,510 and Rs 2,390-2,500 per quintal.
Mill delivery M-30 and S-30 prices also shed Rs 10 each to end at Rs 2,280-2,360 and Rs 2,260-2,340 per quintal.
In the millgate section, sugar Simbholi lost Rs 25 at Rs 2,345, while Dorala and Dhampur fell by Rs 15 each at Rs 2,315 and Rs 2,285 per quintal.

Sugar millgate (including duty): Mawana Rs 2,325, Kinnoni Rs 2,360, Asmoli Rs 2,340, Dorala Rs 2,315, Budhana Rs 2,310, Thanabhavan Rs 2,300, Dhanora Rs 2,335, Simbholi Rs 2,345, Modi Nagar Rs 2,310, Khatuli Rs 2,330, Dhampur 2,285, Ramala Rs 2,330, Bulandshaher Rs 2,280, Anupshaher Rs 2,310, Baghpat Rs 2,360, Morna Rs 2,340, Sakoti Rs 2,290, Chandpur Rs 2,280, Nazibabad Rs 2,330 and Malakpur 2,285.
