Sugar softens on sluggish demand

Sugar prices receded by Rs 20 per quintal in the national capital today on slackness in demand amid mounting of stocks following increased supplies from millers.
Marketmen said in addition to mounting of stocks on increased supplies from mills, fall in demand from stockist and bulk consumers, mainly pulled down sweetener prices.
Sugar ready M-30 and S-30 prices moved down by Rs 20 to finish at Rs 3,270-3,450 and Rs 3,250-3,430 per quintal.
Mill delivery M-30 and S-30 prices also showed a moderate fall of Rs 5 at Rs 3,135-3,310 and Rs 3,120-3,300 per quintal.
In millgate section, Sugar mawana, budhana and Thanabhavan declined by Rs 20 each to Rs 3,200, Rs 3,210 and Rs 3,200 per quintal.
Prices of Modinagar and Dhanora fell by Rs 15 each to Rs 3,175 and Rs 3,155 per quintal.

Sugar ready: M-30 Rs 3,270-3,450, S-30 Rs 3,250-3,430.
Mill delivery: M-30 Rs 3,135-3,310; S-30 Rs 3,120-3300.
Sugar mill gate (including duty): Mawana 3,200, Kinnoni 3,310, Asmoli 3,250, Dorala 3,210, Budhana 3,210, Thanabhavan 3,200, Dhanora 3,155, Simbholi 3,280, Modi Nagar Rs 3,175, Khatuli 3,275, Dhampur 3,140, Ramala 3,170, Bulandshar 3,155, Anupshar 3,150, Baghpat 3,180, Morna 3,180, Sakoti 3,150, Chandpur 3,135 and Nazibabad 3,140.
