Congress national spokesman Ajay Kumar today hit out at the Narendra Modi government, which completed a year in power, saying that by slashing Rs 1,75,122 crore in the social sector, the NDA government at the Centre had 'demolished' the very thought of eradicating social inequality.
"The suit boot ki sarkar has given a go by to inclusive growth and equal development which reflected basic sentiment of the Constitution," Kumar told reporters here.
While budget of plans in the social sector has been cut by Rs 66,222 crore, slash in BRGF (Backward Region Grant Fund) was to the tune of Rs 5,900 crore and that of Food Security Rs 1,03,000 crore.
Accompanied by Bihar PCC president Ashok Choudhary, Kumar said by making such a huge cut in plan money the Narendra Modi government, which had promised 'achche din' in the run up to the Lok Sabha polls last year appeared to be now working with the sole agenda of "Corporate ka saath--khud ka vikas (self development with corporates)," he alleged.
The Congress spokesman claimed agriculture, education, SC&ST Welfare, health and all other sectors had suffered due to slashing of funds under the Modi government.
