Sultry weather in Haryana, Punjab

Sultry weather conditions continued to prevail at most places in Haryana and Punjab, with common capital Chandigarh turning out to be the hottest place in the region today.
Union territory Chandigarh recorded a maximum temperature of 37.4 degrees Celsius, four notches above normal, as per the MeT department's report.
In Haryana, Ambala recorded a high of 35.9 degrees Celsius, two notches above normal. Hisar recorded a maximum of 36.5 degrees Celsius, two degrees above normal.
In Punjab, Amritsar recorded a high of 29.6 degrees Celsius, down five notches, after being lashed by light showers.
Ludhiana and Patiala recorded maximums of 32.6 degrees Celsius and 37.1 degrees Celsius, respectively.
The MeT department has predicted rain or thundershowers at many places in Punjab and Haryana over the next two days.
