The 55-year-old "Hera Pheri" star created his account on the micro-blogging site with the name 'sunielvshetty.'
"It (Twitter) is your voice and one of the best mediums to reach out to your fans and to be heard. I am back to movies after a two year sabbatical," Suniel said in a statement here.
Suniel will be seen again on the big screen in 'Reloaded,' a prequel to Hrithik Roshan starrer 2014 hit film 'Bang Bang'.
The film starring Sidharth Malhotra and Jacqueline Fernandez will be helmed by the director duo of Raj Nidimoru and Krishna DK.
Suniel was seen last in "The Shaukeens".
