Sunny Rao joins Uniphore's Advisory Board

Uniphore Software Systems, a Chennai-based speech recognition solutions company which counts Infosys co-founder Kris Gopalakrishnan among its investors, today said Sunny Rao, Vice President, India and the Middle-East at Vidyo, has joined its advisory board.
"Having Sunny Rao on our advisory Board is a great advantage in building our business. An adept leader, his global experience and work in core technologies will help us strengthen our offerings and drive growth within our target markets," Uniphore Software Systems Co-Founder and COO Ravi Saraogi said in a statement here.
Rao is also a board member at Sri Research for Tissue Engineering.
He will help and guide Uniphore in its overall business strategy, expansion and organisational leadership, Saraogi said.
Rao has led and grown technology organisations across the world for over two decades taking them to leadership positions in each of the geographies he has managed, the statement said.
In a career spanning over two decades, he has held senior leadership positions in Avaya, Genesys and Nuance Communications across Asia Pacific and India, it said.
Uniphore is headquartered at Chennai and has offices in India, the Philippines and the UAE with 80 employees spread across all locations.
Apart from Kris Gopalakrishnan, Uniphore's investors include IDG Ventures India, India Angel Network, Yournest Fund and Stata Ventures.
