Expressing confidence that NDA will provide a strong government at the Centre, Shiv Sena chief Uddhav Thackeray today said his party had supported BJP during its "difficult days" and as its situation is improving it will not "do anything wrong to us."
"Today is the golden day in the history of our country. We are witnessing only victory everywhere," Thackeray said while addressing a press conference at the party headquarters at Dadar in central Mumbai, where his wife Rashmi and son Aaditya were also present.
Stating that the Shiv Sena had supported the BJP during its difficult days, Thackeray said, "Now, when their situation is improving they will not do anything wrong to us."
Dedicating the victory of the party to Sena workers, Thackeray said, "The real responsibility of the NDA leaders starts now. I assure you that we will provide a strong government at the Centre. We had given a face in the form of Modi, which was accepted by the people," he said.
Maharashtra Industries Minister Narayan Rane today resigned from his post in the wake of defeat of his son and sitting MP from Ratnagiri-Sindhudurg seat, Nilesh Rane on his home turf by a Shiv Sena candidate. However, when asked about it Thackeray termed the development as mere "drama".
