Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot on Monday said a survey will be conducted to assess the loss caused to crops due to locust attack in Western Rajasthan.
Gehlot held meeting with officials and visited agriculture fields in Dhanau area here. He also met with farmers who apprised him on the ground situation.
"I have ordered to conduct girdawari (survey) today for the assessment of loss. It will begin from today itself. After the girdawari is completed, the process for compensation will move forward, the chief minister told reporters.
The chief minister said the government was making all efforts to control locusts in coordination with central teams.
Gehlot is also visiting locust-hit Sanchore (Jalore) and Ramgarh (Jaisalmer) areas today.
