Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Sushil Kumar Modi today lauded Chief Minister Nitish Kumar for recommending CBI investigation into the Muzaffarpur shelter home case and lambasted the opposition RJD for "adopting double standards" with regard to the central probe agency.

On the Union minister and RLSP chief Upendra Kushwaha's statement that Kumar should give up bid for the fourth consecutive term in 2020, the senior BJP leader said his party was "not agreement with anyone's personal opinion".

"Thanks to Nitish Kumar for ordering CBI inquiry in Muz rape case. Nobody will be spared," Modi tweeted.

Inmates of a state-funded shelter in Muzaffarpur have allegedly been sexually exploited and it was confirmed by medical examination in cases of 29 of the 42 inmates.

"I am happy that Lalu & Co. Pvt Ltd have shown full faith in CBI inquiry, first in Srijan scam and now in Muz girl's home case. Now they cannot blame CBI for chargesheeting them in IRCTC scam," he said in another tweet.

The RJD, which had accused the state government of trying to shield some accused by not ordering a CBI inquiry, has been attacking Sushil Modi directly in connection with the multi-crore Srijan scam involving "fraudulent" withdrawal of money from the treasury in Bhagalpur district and transfer of the same into the account of an NGO.

RJD supremo Lalu Prasad is serving sentence in a number of fodder scam cases. In the IRCTC scam, which took place while he was the Railway Minister, he and many of his family members face money laundering charges.

Without naming anyone, the Deputy CM also remarked in a tweet that the BJP is not agreement with "any personal opinion of some NDA leaders for replacing Nitish Kumar in 2020".

His statement was in an obvious reference to the interview given by the RLSP chief to a news channel here yesterday wherein he had stated that after serving as chief minister for 15 years, Kumar should consider "giving somebody else a chance" in 2020.
