IPS officer Jagjeet Singh Deswal, who was working as Private Secretary to Overseas Indian Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj, has gone back to his Union territories cadre before completion of his five-year term.
The Appointments Committee of Cabinet has approved the proposal for premature repatriation of Deswal, a 2008 batch IPS officer, to his parent cadre, an order issued by Department of Personnel and Training said.
Deswal was in September last year appointed as Private Secretary for five-year term or on co-terminus basis with the Minister's tenure.
He had joined Delhi and Andaman and Nicobar Islands Police Services (DANIPS) and was later inducted into the Indian Police Service (IPS).
