Suspected suicide bomber gunned down in Pakistan

Pakistani police today shot dead a person whom they suspected was a suicide bomber when he attacked a police compound in the northwestern Khyber Pakhtunwa province.
The suspected bomber opened fire at the main gate of Shah Mansoor Police Lines in Swabi district in the Khyber Pakhtunwa province in which a policeman was injured, police said.
The bomber was killed in the retaliatory firing.
The identity of the deceased is not yet known. The condition of the police officer is stated to be stable and he has been shifted to an area hospital, they said.
District police officer Swabi Sajjad Khan said that the attacker was carrying a pistol and ammunition but was not wearing a suicide vest.
