Talking to reporters at his residence, the Rajya Sabha MP said, "I have received a letter from the Union Ministry of Communications. I am honoured and grateful that my name was considered for the post...But, I am too busy with my court cases and trying to be back in my professional life, that is journalism. So, I will not be able to accept the offer. I do not want to do anything part-time."
The circular said the nomination would be valid till November 14, 2018 or till the member remained an MP.
Asked whether he was contacted by any BJP leader, Ghosh said, "Nobody spoke to me. I am not into any form of politics at the moment."
Stating that he supported demonetisation, Ghosh said, "But the harassment of the common people must be stopped.
