Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti today said the suspension of anti-militancy operations by the Centre for the holy month of Ramadhan has provided a conducive atmosphere to the youth of the state to nurture their creativity and display their talent.
The recent developments in the state in terms of suspension of security operations by the Centre have provided a conducive atmosphere to the local youth in which they would love to nurture their creativities and display their talent. It has brought an attitudinal change among the youth who now see an opportunity for fulfilling their aspirations, Mehbooba said here.
She was speaking at a Sports Conclave organised by the J-K State Sports Council in which Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh felicitated many sporting stars from the state.
Mehbooba said the positivity generated by these developments in the state needs to be sustained and taken forward so that the youth who have felt the suffocation of violence of past three decades or so are provided a congenial atmosphere in which they can fulfil their dreams and realise their aspirations.
The chief minister said she has all along maintained that youth of the state holds a promise as they are full of talent, but that potential only needs to be honed and provided with an opportunity to display.
Around 3,000 youth from across Kashmir valley attended the conclave.
Earlier, the Union Home Minister reached Srinagar this morning on a two-day visit to the state. He will be leaving for Jammu tomorrow.
