He is a mechanical engineer who is widely acclaimed for his project management and people leadership skills," Suzlon Group Chairman Tulsi Tanti said in the statement issued today.
Chalasani started his career with public sector enterprise - NTPC and grew up the ranks over the years.
Later, he is known to have transformed Reliance Power to become the largest market cap entity in the private sector, also helping in transition of BSES from a power distribution company to a leading infrastructure business company.
Suzlon is well positioned to tap the current growth of RE sector and I see lot of opportunities for the company in India and globally, he added.
