Aiming to double its market share in the country, Japanese two-wheeler maker Suzuki Motor Corporation today unveiled four new products, including about Rs 15-lakh V Strom 1000 bike and a 110 cc scooter 'Let's'.
At the 12th auto expo, the company also launched 250 cc Inazuma and 155 cc Gixxer, its flagship model for the Indian market.
While the scooter would be launched in April, Gixxer will hit Indian roads in July or August, Suzuki Motor Corporation India vice president Atul Gupta said.
However, V-Storm (priced at Rs 14.95 lakh) and Inazuma with a sticker price of Rs 3 lakh will be available in the market with the launch today, he said.
Gupta, however, did not disclose the price tags of Let's scooter and Gixxer but said prices would be competitive.
Talking about increasing market penetration, he said the company intends to increase its dealership network from 600 to 1000.
On sales front, Gupta said, "We are aiming to increase our market share from current 2.5 per cent to 5 per cent in the next 12-18 months."
The company also plans to enter export market and ship products to South America, Africa regions and neighbouring countries like Bangladesh.
"To begin with, the company aims to export 5 per cent of its manufacturing capacity, which is currently 5 lakh units," Gupta said. Suzuki Motor Corp India has a plant in Gurgaon.
He said at present the company has around 12 per cent share in the scooter segment.
