"This is a bold decision of the government, aimed at eradication of black money and an attack on corruption and terror financing.
"Due to large scale generation of black money from rampant corruption under previous regimes and resulting inflation, common man has been the worst sufferer," Manch national co-convener Ashwani Mahajan said.
He said this large scale circulation of fake currency, especially from the neighbouring enemy nations, has been multiplying the woes of the common man, along with terror finance on a large scale.
"Government agencies will have to walk an extra mile to facilitate common people in converting their old notes with new legal tender currency," he said.
The Manch also impressed upon the government to take steps to ensure that black money is not allowed to be generated in future again and there is no excessive circulation of big currency notes in the hands of big sharks, generating this black money.
