Sweeper crushed by reversing DTC bus; driver arrested

A DTC driver was arrested after a sweeper was crushed under the wheels of a bus being reversed by him in the early hours today, the police said.
The incident happened at the DTC yard in east Delhi's Kalyanpuri in the early hours today.
Vijay, the sweeper, had his back to the vehicle and didn't see it. The driver, Sunny, also failed to spot him, the police said.
However, police are probing whether the 32-year-old driver was under the influence of alcohol at the time of the incident.
He was hired on contractual basis two weeks back, they said.
