Hisar in Haryana with the maximum temperature at 43.6 deg C was the hottest place in both the states while Narnaul sizzled at 42 deg C, up by a degree above normal level, Met department said here today.
Among other places in Haryana, Ambala, Bhiwani and Karnal recorded the maximum temperature at 40 deg C, 41.6 deg C and 40 deg C respectively.
Union Territory Chandigarh had a high of 39.5 deg C.
In Punjab, Amritsar, Ludhiana and Patiala recorded the day temperature at 41.2 deg C, 41.3 deg C and 41 deg C respectively.
