Sweltering heat in Punjab, Haryana

Sweltering heat continued in Punjab and Haryana even as maximum temperature hovered around normal level in most parts of the two states.
Hisar in Haryana with the maximum temperature at 43.6 deg C was the hottest place in both the states while Narnaul sizzled at 42 deg C, up by a degree above normal level, Met department said here today.
Among other places in Haryana, Ambala, Bhiwani and Karnal recorded the maximum temperature at 40 deg C, 41.6 deg C and 40 deg C respectively.
Union Territory Chandigarh had a high of 39.5 deg C.
In Punjab, Amritsar, Ludhiana and Patiala recorded the day temperature at 41.2 deg C, 41.3 deg C and 41 deg C respectively.
The Met department has forecast dry weather in the next 24 hours in Punjab and Haryana.
