Tapioca farmers upset at price fixed at Rs 250 per point

: Fixing of tapioca price at Rs 250 per point by the District Revenue Officer here today has upset growers, who had been demanding higher price.
DRO S Selvaraj had fixed the price after a meeting between tapioca farmers of Salem, Namakkal and Villupuram, sago producers and district officials here over the issue.
The farmers alleged that factory owners were not paying the rate and demanded that the state g overnment solve their problem before Diwali.
Sago producers on their part requested the government to procure it through SAGOSERVE, the Salem Starch and Sago Manufacturers Service Industrial Cooperative Society Ltd.
