Tata Elxsi, MStar partner on NG set top box software solutions

Tata Elxsi today announced a global partnership with M-Star Semiconductor Inc., to provide a comprehensive suite of software for MStar's System-on-a-Chip (SoC) targeted at Set-Top Boxes (STB).
As part of the partnership, Tata Elxsi's "RDK Prime" suite is made available on MStar STB chipset products.
The suite is optimised to exploit the functionality for next-generation application demands from end consumers, Tata Elxsi said in a statement here.
The partnership brings together industry leading MStar STB chipset solutions with Tata Elxsi's solutions and professional services, it said, adding, cmmunication service providers, MSOs and OEMs are expected to gain from it.
"... We expect this partnership to propel the adoption of new IP based technologies at a much more rapid pace," said Sreekumar K P, Vice President of Broadcast Business Unit, at Tata Elxsi.
