"All works in this regard have been continuing and we hope to start the hockey academy soon," Sanjib Paul, vice-president (Corporate Services) of Tata Steel, said after inaugurating a Water Sports centre at Dimna lake here.
The state government had a proposal to set up a hockey academy and offered us to convert one of the two existing hockey stadiums into an academy, he said.
Tata Steel would make all the arrangement to train budding hockey players under the tutelage of expert coaches and professionals, he said.
Referring to the water sports centre, Paul said the facility for water sports was existing at Dimna lake but no activities had taken place during the last few years.
"We have renovated the facilities and restarted it at the foothills of Dalma Range of forest," he said.
