"Heroes" star Tawny Cypress is all set to join TV series "Supergirl" later this year.
Cypress has been cast in the DC Comics series as the anti-alien US senator Miranda Crane in an upcoming episode, reported Digital Spy.
When Crane becomes embroiled in an alien attack on a visit to National City, she has to turn to Supergirl (Melissa Benoist) for help.
Cypress is best known for portraying Simone Deveaux in "Heroes", in addition to regularly appearing in "Unforgettable" and "House of Cards".
Her casting comes just days after "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" star Emma Caulfield was cast in Supergirl as tough-talking government agent Cameron Chase.
