The officials, led by Deputy SP K Bordoloi, arrested Dev Sharma when he was accepting a bribe of Rs 1 lakh from a businessman, police said.
The cash has been seized and the arrested inspector is being interrogated, they said.
Another tax inspector is being interrogated in this connection, police said, adding that investigation is underway.
