Swift is preparing to give an 'explosive' performance at the awards on August 24 in LA, reported E! Online.
"It's not a collaboration with another singer," a source said. Swift joins previously-announced performers including Usher, Ariana Grande and 5 Seconds of Summer.
The 24-year-old star has won two Video Music Awards in the
past. She took home Best Female Video for 'You Belong With Me' in 2009 and 'I Knew You Were Trouble' in 2013.
