Country's largest software exporter TCS has been chosen by German aviation major Deutsche Lufthansa AG to set up a test factory to support its IT transformation initiative in a "multi-million dollar" deal.
TCS will provide testing services and help improve the quality of services of Lufthansa's technology operations, the Tata Group company said in a statement.
It will pioneer and manage the enterprise testing services by setting up a test factory model across Lufthansa to streamline and standardise their testing processes, reduce capital expenditure and implement next generation services.
"Simplification of processes and systems is crucial to meet the changing demands of customers in today's digital age", TCS Director for Central Europe, Sapthagiri Chapalapalli, said.
He said Lufthansa has been a client for TCS in the past as well and it has been investing significantly in expanding operations and talent base in Germany.
TCS serves 85 clients in Germany and Austria through its central European operations.
"We gave TCS a challenge, and they reacted quickly.
For us, the project has demonstrated that TCS is a trustworthy partner with good focus on strategic business value. As DNB's digital partner, TCS has shown strong customer focus. TCS has led the project with first class technical expertise and great stamina," said Liv Fiksdahl, Group Executive Vice President and Head of IT & Operations in DNB.
Susheel Vasudevan, Vice President, Banking and Financial Services, TCS, said, "Globally, the banking industry is being shaped by evolving customer needs and changes in customer behavior.
Our deep domain knowledge combined with an understanding of consumer behavior in the context of digital technologies helps us to partner with DNB, a leading bank in Norway, to transform mobile and peer-to-peer digital payments space as part of an overall digital transformation effort.
