"Three platoons of Quick Response Teams were rushed to the town after the incident and the situation is under control," Prakasam district Superintendent of Police P Pramod Kumar said, adding efforts were underway to nab those involved in the clash.

At least 10 persons from both the parties, including a constable, were injured during the clashes.
A large number of supporters from both the parties later held protests and counter protests and also blocked the Addanki-Narketpally road. Police intervened and dispersed the protesters.
