IT company Tech Mahindra has set up a new subsidiary 'nth dimension' to focus on healthcare services space, starting with GBP 50 million or about Rs 500 crore deal bagged from UK-based Circle Health.
"It has been selected by Circle Health after a competitive procurement process to become their chosen technology partner for next 10 years.
"The project will be delivered by nth dimension, a newly formed wholly-owned subsidiary of Tech Mahindra in the United Kingdom," Tech Mahindra said in a statement.
"The deal was signed today and is worth a projected GBP 50 million over (next) 10 years," it added.
This is the first deal for nth dimension, a Tech Mahindra official said.
Both Circle Health and Tech Mahindra have ambitious growth plans for the healthcare sector, focusing in the first instance on the creation of a new state-of-the-art hospital in Birmingham.
Additionally, Tech Mahindra will support Circle Health in developing its innovative MSK service across Bedfordshire, providing patients with the ability to book their MRI appointments from their mobile phones and GPs viewing scans and reports from their mobile devices, it added.
"We are delighted to partner with Circle. We will support them in improving their current infrastructure and co-creating new applications that will allow for patients to take more control of their healthcare," Tech Mahindra VP Rajib Bhattacharya said.
In response to the creation of the partnership, Circle Health will provide access to its hospitals, clinicians and experience of running healthcare services, allowing Tech Mahindra to develop and adopt new technologies that improve patient care, operational delivery and reduce costs for all parties.
"Tech Mahindra will support us to grow our business and improve our competitiveness through the adoption of new technologies," Circle Health's Chief Executive Steve Melton said.
