IT services firm Tech Mahindra today said it will expand 'Saral Rozgar' service to the Middle East and Southeast Asia as it aims to provide jobs to over 100 million people over the next five years.
Launched in 2014, Saral Rozgar was launched to connect people and employers for blue-collar and entry-level jobs in India. The platform has six million users.
"Saral Rozgar Card was launched with an objective of creating a common pool of jobs and job providers. While there are a lot of job portals, there is no platform for job seekers who are graduates and below level. We already have six million users and we aim to ramp this up to 100 million in the next five years," Tech Mahindra Strategy and Growth Factories Head Jagdish Mitra told PTI.
He added with international expansion to markets like the Middle East, Indonesia, Malaysia and the Philippines, its users will have access to bigger job opportunities.
"The skill and categories in demand are sales electricians, plumbers, fitters, machine operators, HCV and LMV drivers, carpenters, factory workers, nursing and paramedics and grey-collar/entry level categories like sales, retail, accounting, etc," he said.
This platform will also provide an opportunity for the local populace in these geographies to enroll for seeking jobs, Mitra added.
Job seekers can purchase Saral Rozgar cards for Rs 100 from over 80,000 retail points of telecom recharge and kirana stores. They can call the helpline and get registered on the platform and a resume with their skills, education levels and work experience is created for potential employment.
Customers will now have access to international jobs opportunities by purchasing the new Rs 500 card.
The validity of the Rs 500 card (international market) is 120 days and the candidate gets relevant job alerts, job counseling session from the call centre, free entry to Saral Rozgar job fairs.
More than 10,000 employers including large corporate employers are using Saral Rozgar for their entry-level and blue-collared recruitment needs.
The company said it has generated over one million jobs across 150 plus categories for candidates who are not digitally present.
"Many of these people are unskilled and semiskilled migrant workers and they cannot make their resumes. Since our service is call-based, we see a huge traction," Tech Mahindra Consumer Businesses Head Vivek Chandok said.
