The film is expected to begin filming in New York City and Buffalo in April. The production is estimated to spend USD 70 million with USD 63 million spent in the Big Apple, reported Ace Showbiz.
"New York City knows how to host blockbuster films. We welcome 'Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2' to New York City, and look forward to the many jobs and tens of millions of jobs this will bring to our local economy," NYC mayor, Bill de Blasio, said.
The first movie starred Megan Fox as April O'Neil, Will Arnett as her co-wroker, and William Fichtner as villainous Shredder.
Meanwhile, Pete Ploszek played Leonardo on set and Johnny Knoxville voiced the character.
The first installment was directed by Jonathan Liebesman, while this second one is expected to be helmed by David Green.
