Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Tejaswi Yadav has promptly attended to a problem posted by a student on his Facebook page and helped him swiftly get a post-matric scholarship.
An engineering student hailing from Sitamarhi district had narrated his woes to the Deputy CM on his Facebook account about not getting post-matriculation scholarship for the past three years.
A statement from the Deputy CM's office today quoted Tejaswi Yadav as saying "I got the complaint verified by officials and got the pending scholarship deposited in his bank account immediately."
"After getting the scholarship amount, the youth sent me a thank you message on my Facebook account," Tejaswi, son of RJD president Lalu Prasad, said sharing the episode.
Tejaswi, who also holds the charge of
Backward/Extremely Backward Castes welfare department, said during a recent review meeting of the department he gave an order that pending scholarship amount should be cleared within 15 days time.
"Good results have started coming on this count," he said.
"My effort is that students hailing from poor section of the society should not shun studies for want of money. Being a youth, I can understand the pain and agony of such students from humble background," he added.
