BJP MP and youth wing chief Anurag Thakur today slammed Tehelka editor-in-chief Tarun Tejpal for giving a "political colour" to his alleged sexual assault case and said such actions will not help him.
"It is sad to see Tarun Tejpal blaming BJP. He is trying to shield behind this. Blaming BJP and giving political colour will not help him," Thakur, Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha president, told reporters.
Thakur said Tejpal should present himself before Goa police to record his statement.
Slamming Congress, he said, "Why Congress is defending him is best known to Congress."
Thakur alleged that leaders of Congress ruled states were involved in cases of crime against women and said there should be more social awareness on safety and security of women.
Thakur, who was here to launch BJYM's national campaign, said the youth, who are feeling insecure because of the directionless policies of Congress-led UPA government, would throw the government out of power and bring in Narendra Modi government.
On the ceasefire violation by Pakistani forces, Thakur said Congress is "playing dangerously with our national security".
While Pakistan repeatedly violated the ceasefire, attacking Army Camps, and the Chinese entered Indian territory posing serious threats, our government remained a mute spectator on such a critical issue, he said.
On Modi's proposed rally in Jammu on December 1, Thakur said it was a concern for Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, adding that the state was bound to gain from him.
