Telangana Congress will launch a bus yatra from February 26 to expose "failures" of the TRS government, state unit president N. Uttam Kumar Reddy announced here today.
The 'Praja Chaitanya Bus Yatra' will kick off from Chevella in neighbouring Ranga Reddy district.
Addressing the one-day convention of Telangana Pradesh Congress Seva Dal here, Reddy said despite completing nearly four years in power, K Chandrasekhar Rao government has failed to fulfil the promises it had made to various sections of the society.
"KCR has been cheating all section with fake promises and hollow claims for the last four years. Therefore, by conducting 'Praja Chaitanya Bus Yatra', the Congress wants to caution people against KCR's mind games to stay in power," he said.
Reddy said "due prominence" will be given to the Seva Dal in allocation of tickets for elections.
He alleged that MPs of other parties are "made to join the TRS through bribe or intimidation".
He also accused the chief minister of neglecting the entire agriculture sector. "The state government is responsible for suicides of over 4,000 farmers in the last four years," Reddy added.
On the occasion, AICC Secretary R C Khuntia lauded the services of Seva Dal.
Khuntia said the Telangana government failed to fulfill the poll promises made by the TRS pertaining to allotting two-bedroom houses to the poor, generating employment for the youth, allotting land to dalits and solving farmers' problems.
The AICC leader alleged that instead of making "Bangaru Telangana" (Golden Telangana) as promised, "the chief minister has made fortunes for his family".
He admitted that the Congress filed to take the credit for creation of Telangana and convert it into a poll advantage in 2014 general elections.
