The decision was taken as educational institutions are now applying for different permissions without any regulation on time, leading to various problems and irregularities, Deputy Chief Minister K Srihari, who handles education portfolio, said.
No applications would be entertained after April 20, he said.
Srihari was speaking after a review with officials on the decisions taken by the education department in the last 40 months and plans for the future.
The state government is initiating various reforms in the education department to ensure that students get quality education, the minister said.
The common entrance tests for admissions into higher educational institutions would be conducted online from the next academic year, he said.
The private and corporate educational institutions should not conduct classes during holidays and they need to obtain permission if they want to conduct classes for entrance tests in summer, he added.
