A joint team of the city crime branch (unit V) and Telangana police arrested Sunder Rajratna Kanagala from Ninety feet road in Dharavi area and his wife Radha (34) from Chunabhatti, an official said today.
In a daring heist, gold ornaments weighing around 40 kg were looted by a gang of five persons, who posed as CBI and police officials, from a branch of Muthoot Fincorp in Sangareddy district on December 28 last year.
Kanagala was picked up from the office of Almighty Enterprises and SKR Business, the official said, adding that based on the inputs given by him, Radha was arrested from their residence in Chunabhatti.
However, police have not recovered any stolen gold from their possession.
The duo were handed over to Telangana police on the transit remand.
