"I met Lok Sabha Speaker Sumitra Mahajan this evening and tendered my resignation. As I was elected to Telangana Legislative Council on June 1, I have resigned as Member of Parliament," Srihari said here.
Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao in January this year had dropped one of his deputies, T Rajaiah, who was looking after health portfolio, from the Council of Ministers and inducted Srihari in his place. Srihari holds the education portfolio.
Srihari was elected from Waranagal constituency in Telangana in 2014 from TRS party.
