Campaigning against the Telangana Bill, YSR Congress Party president Jaganmohan Reddy today called on the CPI(M) leadership and sought their support to "keep the state united".
"We have discussed about the bill, which is going to come in Parliament for the bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh. We do not want this bifurcation to take place," CPI(M) general secretary Prakash Karat told reporters after meeting Reddy.
He further stated that both the parties have discussed about the stand and "what they will do in Parliament".
Reddy said CPI(M) has given an assurance to keep Andhra Pradesh united.
YRSCP sources said Reddy would also hold discussions with leaders of various political parties in the national capital in the coming days.
The party led by Reddy yesterday met President and submitted a memorandum requesting Pranab Mukherjee not to recommend the introduction of the AP Reorganisation Bill 2013 in Parliament.
