Telangana Rashtra Samiti ahead in ZPTC, MPTC elections

Telangana Rashtra Samiti (TRS) candidates won 41 out of 57 Zilla Parishad Territorial Constituencies (ZPTCs) in the Karimnagar district, sources said, after counting of ballot papers started on Tuesday morning.
Congress candidates won 14 seats, while Telugu Desam Party (TDP) and BJP bagged one each.
In elections for 817 Mandal Parishad Territorial Constituency (MPTC) seats, Congress candidates won 280 seats, TDP won 34 seats, TRS nominees won 349 seats, BJP won five seats and other candidates won 150 seats.
Counting of votes concluded late at night.
