Temp falls in parts of UP, Orai hottest at 47.5 deg C

Despite weather remaining dry, day temperatures fell in some parts of Uttar Pradesh today with Orai being the hottest place in the state at 47.5 degrees Celsius.
According to MeT office here, day temperatures fell in Allahabad, Varanasi, Faizabad, Meerut, Kanpur and Lucknow divisions and changed little in the remaining divisions of the state.
The temperatures were above normal in Jhansi, Moradabad and Agra divisions and below normal in Gorakhpur division and normal in the remaining divisions.
Following Orai, Jhansi sizzled at 46.2 degrees Celsius, Banda 46, Etawah 44.2 and Basti recorded a high of 44 degrees Celsius, the MeT officials said.

Rain or thundershower are likely occur at isolated places over eastern parts of Uttar Pradesh while weather was likely to remain dry over the western parts.
