Cash offerings, made in the temple 'hundi' by devotees at the hill shrine of Lord Venkateswara near here, have totalled a record Rs 20.24 crore in the last eight days of the ongoing Navaratri Brahmotsavam festivities, a temple official said today.
The hill temple PRO Talari Ravi said this year hundi (offering box) cash collection was Rs four crore more than last year during the same period.
Gold, silver and other precious offerings have not been included in it, he said.
The revenue from accommodation, sale of 'worship tickets' and 'Laddu prasadams' during the festivities are being calculated, he added.
